Horwitz Career Apparel and Uniforms is a full service uniforms distributor servicing the areas best dressed department in the Connecticut and northeast area. We offer a variety of services including maintaining a wide selection of police uniforms and accessories, representing the leading manufacturers in our industry. The uniform markets we cover include Police, Fire, Public Safety, Transportation, Industrial, Hospitals and Food Service.

Owner

Bob has over 30 years’ experience in providing Public Safety Uniforms here in the Northeast.

He has helped design and develop programs for Yale University, Connecticut State Police , Walt Disney World, Mohegan Sun Casino, General Electric and Yale Center for British Art

Bob served on The National Dealers Council for Horace Small in Nashville TN 1994-95. Received National Association of Uniform Manufacturers award for Best Dressed Department for Yale New Haven Hospital

Owner/Office Manager

Those of you that I have already met know that I am here to make sure that you look your best.  It is very important for me to see the customers that I have dressed in uniform.  I take personal pride in how YOU look!
I truly enjoy meeting , seeing and chatting with my varied clients, both professionally and personally. Some of the departments that  I work with include Yale Police Dept., Yale Security , East Hartford Police Dept., Manchester Police Dept., East Haven Police Dept., North Haven Police Dept., Yale Beinecke Library  , Yale Sterling Library, and Quinnipiac University just to name a few.

Bob and I are very proud of our current staff and their loyalty and caring in servicing our many customers.  We feel very fortunate to have been in this location for the last 30 plus years, and look forward to many more years, taking care of YOU!

Sales Manager

Laura specializes in Police and Fire Department uniforms as well as protective clothing. She has a wealth of knowledge in the public safety industry and a vested interest in the latest materials and equipment coming out. Her husband Peter, is a member of the New Haven Fire Department assigned to Squad Company 1 and is also a client. The safety of her husband as well as her clients in key accounts such as New Haven Police, Hamden Fire Department, Clinton Police, West Haven Police, Branford Fire, North Branford Police, North Haven Police, Ansonia Police, Seymour Police and Milford Fire are of the utmost importance.

Sales Associate

Nicole is the newest member of the Horwitz family. Joining June of 2019, she has jumped right into helping with a variety of projects. Her responsibilities include, assisting all the staff with their accounts, inventory organization, helping with fittings as well as taking over some Fire accounts. Nicole also dabbles in a few different jobs in addition to Horwitz. Working as a private flight attendant and she also frequents at her fathers business helping with office organization and doing accounts payable & receivable.

If you haven’t been in to meet Nicole then you haven’t met Kid, her dog who has also become a member of the Horwitz family working in the office throughout the week! She is a Graduate from University of New Haven with a Bachelors in Business Management.

Accounts Payable and Receivable

Linda joined the Horwitz team in March 2013 and brought with her over 15 years of bookkeeping/collections experience. Prior to her employment with us, she worked with Evergreen Packaging for 11 years as their National Sales Administrative Manager where she managed an 8 person sales team. A couple of her many responsibilities included monthly budget/demand forecast reports and customer sales analysis reports/business summaries. After attending Sacred Heart University, she spent 8 years working in the aviation industry at Sikorsky Memorial Airport as both a charter flight operations manager and an aviation placement employment specialist. While there, she obtained her private pilot’s license.

Tailor

For the past 25+ years Ana has been the in house tailor for Horwitz. Her talents and expertise do not go unnoticed. Her work is a major part of our business helping make sure every person is comfortable and looks just right. She specializes in tailoring Class A uniforms, everyday job uniforms as well as special events pieces. Ana is a mother to all and when shes not in the office you can find her spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
